We are seeking creative families and kids to create glowing sculptures for a special BayFest project. In this FREE workshop with Animate Arts, you will make giant 3D flowers for the Summer Trail project and evening lantern event. Your amazing sculptures will be displayed in public locations across Herne Bay for the whole of the summer! Who will become our famous artist-families for this extraordinary project?
• This is a family workshop, suitable for children ages 7-12 and accompanied by an adult.
• Participants must be available for the workshop AND lantern event on Saturday 28th July evening
This is Herne Bay Rowing Club’s annual regatta event, which involves racing from rowing clubs spanning from the South coast of England. Come and watch some fit, young rowers race from Hampton pier to Herne Bay pier.
There will be a BBQ and refreshments available at the club on Spa Esplanade and the bar will be open upstairs to visitors and anyone welcome to join the club as a social or rowing member (please enquire within).
The Beach Fun Day is part of a weekend celebrating both the opening of the festival and the annual Herne Bay Regatta held by the rowing club. The fun day will include the annual sandcastle competition and lots more fun.

- 12.30pm registration for the 9-11s and the family event

There will be use of Interactive Display and Information touch screen point in the Centre enabling visitors to search images of local history interest taken from our own extensive archives and this will include facility to take digital copies of any item viewed
There will be two guided walks during the day along Herne Bay seafront from the clocktower to the pier led by knowledgeable local historians dressed in traditional costume.Free handouts of more detailed history will be available to all visitors.
Volunteers will be on hand all day to answer any questions relating to Herne Bay local history including local families houses etc.

Forget the stress of bringing your own supplies as there will be very reasonably priced food and drink available to purchase and not forgetting popcorn and sweets for an authentic cinema experience. There will also be Herne Bay based alcohol vendors onsite so no need to bring a bottle!
The money raised from the PTA food and drink sales go directly to benefitting the children of Herne Bay Infant and Junior Schools. This is a fundraising event hosted by the Herne Bay Infant and Junior School PTA and we really appreciate your support!

Herne Classic Motor Show is on Herne Bay seafront with 500+ classic vehicles on display. The Classic Music Show with great entertainers, Retro Stalls, children’s entertainment and lots more.
Over 150 radio controlled model boats on display and sailing on the lake. This is our annual club event with visiting clubs coming from all over the southeast to display their models. We will have several speed boat races throughout the day and have an area for children (big and small) to have a go at controlling a boat them selves.
