Amy Johnson was an iconic figure in 1930s aviation. Record-breaking pilot and engineer, she captured the world and became a national heroine and international celebrity. She died tragically while serving her country during WWII at the age of just 37.
Jane Priston is founder and Director of the Amy Johnson Project and has dedicated the last 13 years to bringing Amy back to life for a whole new generation and not allowing her memory to slip out of history. Jane was responsible for the life-sized bronze statue of Amy on the Herne Bay sea front, commissioned to mark the 75th anniversary of Amy’s death in the Thames Estuary in 1941.
In ‘The Life and Death of Amy Johnson’ Jane will take us on the journey of Amy’s life, incredible achievements and tragic death, where possible using Amy’s own words to tell her epic story.
