Herne Bay Jazz Festival is a non-profit, multi-day music event for all ages, bringing the best of UK talent to venues across Herne Bay, Kent, with artistic programming from across the jazz, swing, blues and world music spectrum. Our seaside provides the backdrop for over 20 hours of top-level jazz performance for our local community and visitors at numerous locations including Herne Bay Pier Stage, The King’s Hall, Beach Creative and multiple smaller venues including The Pier Ceylon, The Ship, The Firkin Frog, The Four Fathoms and more, with thousands attending predominantly free, totally accessible events over the festival weekend. With a strong emphasis on providing an opportunity to explore high quality live music without the usual barriers of cost or travel, we offer the public the chance to discover and be inspired by a broad range of culture in an inclusive and respectful environment. We pride ourselves on offering family friendly performances including specialist workshops and activities as well as a parade. Our partners include numerous local businesses and groups, including over £26,000 of support in kind during the festival; in 2024 we had 50 festival volunteers from the community including members of the Rotary Club and Coastal Community Team.
