The Ellie Babies trio – fronted by singer Ellie Laine – play jazz, swing and blues with a sprinkling of New Orleans, combining musicianship with a fun vibe. Their repertoire includes songs by artists ranging from Nina Simone to Louis Prima and Dr John. Described as having a “lovely voice” by TV’s Len Goodman and “bags of personality” by Channel Radio, Ellie has performed in Belgium, Denmark and jazz venues across London and the South East. She was among pro singers on Simon Cowell’s Grenfell Tower charity single Bridge Over Troubled Water, which was No1 in 14 countries. Pianist Jacob Willoughby has played at venues and festivals all over the UK, Europe and beyond for more than 20 years. He is joined on double bass by his regular collaborator, multi-instrumentalist Cal Roberts.
