The Rockstar Experience, in conjunction with Kent HAF and Herne Bay Festival, is returning to Herne Bay in August.

The Rockstar TOTAL Experience” is an inclusive and collaborative programme
for children and young people aged 5-16 years, including those
registered as SEND.

Funded places are valid for one week of your choice. Non-funded places are £50 per week and all attendees get a free, healthy, fresh, plant-based meal every day.
Places can be booked through Evouchers. Ask your school for details.

Over the four weeks, participants will work with professional musicians as
they learn to play instruments, form bands, write original songs or learn
covers, hone their musicianship, develop their image and stagecraft and
design and produce their own merchandise as they work towards performing
free live shows to friends, families and public audiences. The object
of The Rockstar TOTAL Experience is to build confidence in young
people, provide them with new experiences that they otherwise wouldn’t
have access to and for them to make new friends and have fun.
Along with live music and associated activities we will be providing free
daily plant-based meals to all participants and as part of that they will
learn important nutritional information, how food choices impact the environment
and receive recipes for healthy, low-cost meals that they can
make at home.
Many attendees will never have played instruments or been in bands before
and our programme will give them a comprehensive experience of
what it takes to be part of a successful working band as well as the excitement
and joy of playing live.
We will also offer a few voluntary positions to university students.
There is currently nothing quite like our programme in Herne Bay and its
uniqueness regularly attracts young people and audiences from different
parts of Kent to the area. It’s a great opportunity to showcase the multitude
of talent that Herne Bay has to offer.
Outside of the event we’ll be running weekend workshops throughout the
year so that we can create a legacy and promote original live music across
venues in Herne Bay while giving young people the opportunity to be a
part of something creative and positive.
