Herne Bay Festival
21st July to 25th August 2024

In each tale the overarching theme would be that through working together as a community we can vanquish the enemy, and through employing analogy as as device we are able to bring the themes for this years festival into the narrative, whether it be hunger, or obesity, rising sea levels, mental and physical well-being etc. The interactive storytelling performances will provide educational benefits as the stories will focus on the environment of the town. Through our improvisational approach we can weave physical attributes of the town into each narrative. Once the audience have helped create the story, with settings including the Pier, the Downs, beach huts, the Maunsell Forts etc, they have the opportunity to see these locations in the flesh. This process allows us to create eight bespoke stories for audiences, and provides an opportunity for each audience member, particularly the children to take the mantle of “Hero of their Story.”
