This is a FREE family friendly art workshop! Cyanotype printing is a fun, interactive printing technique that uses ultra-violet sensitive paper and UV rays from the sun! This cyanotype printing workshop will provide the participants with a hands-on workshop, exploring one of the earliest forms of photographic techniques. The workshop will be open to all ages, abilities & backgrounds. Participants will create photographic prints by arranging objects such as plants, sea shells and shapes onto UV sensitive paper. This is the left to expose in direct sunlight for a few minutes. Next the print is washed in tap water to reveal a striking blue & white silhouette image. By the end of the workshop the participants will have taken part in a fun & educational activity, taking home their own prints to hang proudly on the wall. They will also have developed their understanding of the history of photography & will be provided with information sheets to reflect back on. This workshop is aimed a families and children. There are future opportunities to attend future photographic workshops at The Darkroom at Beach Creative, providing the participants the chance to continue their interest and to support a small independent Herne Bay based business.
