Come along and make a Diving Dolphin, suitable for children aged 3 – 6 years. A simple but effective moving craft. All resources will be made available.

This is a drop-in activity between the advertised times. Please note, due to limited space during busy times, we will be handing out ‘timed tickets’ on the day so everyone can have a turn.

Discovering Herne Bay’s History @ The Heritage Centre
Aug 4 @ 11:00 am – 4:00 pm

A display of posters and images in The Heritage Centre featuring HERNE BAY’S CENTENARY CELEBRATION 1833-1933. These will comprise copies of completely original material not seen in public since its first production in
1933.

There will be use of Interactive Display and Information touch screen point in the Centre enabling visitors to search images of local history interest taken from our own extensive archives and this will include facility to take digital copies of any item viewed

There will be two guided walks during the day along Herne Bay seafront from the clocktower to the pier led by knowledgeable local historians dressed in traditional costume.Free handouts of more detailed history will be available to all visitors.

Volunteers will be on hand all day to answer any questions relating to Herne Bay local history including local families houses etc.

Herne Bay Cartoon Festival Live Cartooning returns for the sixth year. This year’s event takes place on the Pier. Come and watch the professional cartoonists and caricaturists at work.
